Programme Overview

ICAD’s Doctor of Philosophy in Art, Design and Creative Media offers the choice to write a full research thesis, or to develop a creative work accompanied by a research report. This dual pathway is perfect for creative practitioners and artists who may want an advanced doctoral study of their own practice without the challenge of a full research thesis.

Programme Requirements

• A Master’s degree (Level 7 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in the relevant field as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
• Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) that are accepted by the HEP’s Senate; OR
• Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government. OR
• Pass an interview OR submission of portfolio determined by the HEP as required.

Additional Requirements

• International students are required to achieve a minimum score Band 4 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) OR minimum score of 6.0 for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) OR its equivalent.
